I have been doing a bit of reminising back to when Sawyer came. Sawyer came to me as a three year old July 15 of 2017. Sawyer came with no name. Take a look at this beautiful young gelding and tell me why he had no name. He was said to be farel like a cat, he was supposed to be unfriendly and a loner but he turned out to be everything but. Sawyer was sweet, calm and social. When he came off of the trailer to arrive he sighed relief and let me soothe him, he followed me through the barn and rested in his stall. I ran a brush over him and then I realized this horse was special. The first time we put him out with the other horses I whistled for them to come into me. I expected Sawyer to be reluctant however he was the second one to the gate. Sawyer came at a very special time you see. He was never supposed to be "my" horse but I didn't know that. I wasn't able to make it happen before and I realize now why. Sawyer was supposed to be Brandon's horse. See Brandon's childhood dog, Duke was going grey and falling into the tragic cycle. Sawyer had arrived one week before Duke had passed away. One week was all Sawyer needed to steal Brandon's heart. Sawyer is incredibly intuitive and he truly does love Brandon. Now that the nonprofit is established I had this beautiful photo of the horses done. Sawyer is standing tall and proud in it. Everyone who sees the photo, picks out handsome Sawyer as he is such a model. From no name to fame and many know his name. Sawyer is one of our special American Saddlebreds.
